Pinocchio?

An author’s book to be inspired and to reflect on the fickle nature of man.

One hundred drawings by Andrea Branzi, one hundred real works of art with a single subject at the center, the most famous wooden puppet ever: Pinocchio. Collodi’s story, eliminating the sweetenings made over time that have turned it into a harmless fairy tale, is actually a bitter story of thieves, cold, poverty, and darkness, where the King does not exist and the talking cricket is killed with a hammer.

Andrea Branzi takes a journey within the history of art, transforming in his drawings the protagonists of many absolute masterpieces into many Pinocchios leading us in a search and reflection on truth and lies.

ANDREA BRANZI – An architect and designer, he has been part of the radical avant-garde movement since graduating in 1966. In 1982 he co-founded and directed Domus Academy, the first post-graduate school of design. Scientific Curator of the Design Museum at the Milan Triennale, he has curated several of its thematic exhibitions. In 2008 he received an Honorary Degree in Design from La Sapienza University of Rome, and in the same year he was appointed Honorary Member of the Royal Design for Industry in London. He is the author of many books on the history and theory of Design, published in various countries.
