Lego, Take a Brick

On the occasion of the exhibition “Vincent van Gogh. Cultured Painter,” a collaboration with Lego Italia has been activated to offer the Mudec public the chance to have fun with the famous colored bricks and trigger their imagination for the creation of a very personal work inspired by the Dutch master. To remind even adults of the importance of unleashing their creativity. Art, like any form of cultural activity, generates very positive effects on the physical and psychological well-being of those who enjoy it.

A creative break with Lego Italy

A cultural proposal is not exhausted in the single event or exhibition design: this is the philosophy that guides 24 Ore Cultura in creating palimpsests designed to delve into the themes present in museum collections or temporary exhibitions. Special projects that make each event a unique opportunity to explore new meanings and perspectives, consolidating the role of the museum as a living space of culture and innovation and a new agora of the present.

Following the visit to the exhibition, the public was invited to the educational workshop to create a series of “works of art” using the “bricks” provided by LEGO Italia, being inspired by observing some of the works of the great Dutch master, analyzed both from a pictorial point of view and from the point of view of emotional experience. At the end of the workshop, participants were invited to keep their work with them, to modify and rework it at a later time, imitating the creative process of many artists.

During the period of activity, between November and December 2023, LEGO also inhabited the spaces of the Mudec Design Store and the exhibition’s bookshopwith a product placement activity that included the display-and sale-of its model of Van Gogh’s “The Starry Night.”

Beyond the playful component, the proposed activities, all of which were free of charge, were an important opportunity to remind all participants that expressing one’s creative potential is not (just) child’s play, but is essential for the psychological and physical well-being of every individual.
